IKEA Scraproom Haul! Lots of FUN Goodies!

Hello again!  Yesterday, my entire family (hubby, kiddos, mom, dad, little brother and his girlfriend) went on a 10 hour family outing!  It was a beautiful day here in FW, TX, with temps in the UPPER 60s!  To top that one... today we should be hitting about 74 degrees! CrAzY!  I am ready for some snow and I sooooo LOVE sweatshirt weather, so this isn't quite working out for me! lol!

Anyway, we began our day with a trip to IKEA (which is only about 45 mins from my house).  Not my hubby's favorite place to go... but bless his heart, he sucks it up just for me! :)  We spent a good 3 hours in there shopping for my 'work in progress' scraproom.  The initial plan was that the hubby was going to build most of my shelving units and stuff, but with him only having a week or so between oil wells, I didn't want him to be spending all of his time in his workshop. So..... my solution, you ask?!?!  A trip to IKEA! :)

After Ikea we stopped at In-N-Out for some yummy lunch and then ventured off to enjoy ICE! at the Gaylord Texan (the official hotel of the Dallas Cowboys) in Grapevine, TX.  Every year the Gaylord Texan has a spectacular 14,000-square-foot ICE! exhibit that features a variety of magical holiday scenes and sculptures hand-carved by 40 visiting artisans from Harbin, China.  This year's theme was 'Shrek the Halls'.  I will be sure to post photos of this soon.

So, back to IKEA... I went into IKEA with a list already printed out so that I wouldn't get too sidetracked and concentrate only on what I NEEDED... and I am proud to say that I was able to stick to my list and stay on track! :)

Here is what I purchased for my scrappy space (photos will be up once it is all put together)...

  • Expedit Bookshelf w/8 Cubbies (will be placed vertically)
  • (4) Kassett Magazine boxes
  • Set of 5 Flyt Magazine Files (which I plan on decorating with patterned paper)
  • (10) Roja Label Holders (for my magazine files)
  • (12) Rajtan Spice Jars (to house my embellies)
  • (3) Ribba Picture Ledges (to store my embellishment jars)
  • (6) Magnetic Grundtal Containers (for more embellies)
  • (4) Bygel Rails (3 of them to store my punches)
  • (4) Pink Bygel Containers (to hang on one of the rails for storage)
  • (1) Dignitet Curtain Wire with (25) Dignitet Curtain rings w/Clips (to hang papers or sticker sheets)
  • (3) Ekby Osten Shelves (measuring 46 7/8" x 11" each)
  • (2) Ekby Gallo Wall Side Units (to house my 3 Ekby Shelves)
There is STILL so MUCH more that I want.... but will just have to wait a couple of paydays! lol!  Below is a picture to give you an idea of what I came home with. :)  Can't wait to see it ALL in my scraproom!  Off to put some of it together now! :)
All of my goodies that I have listed! :)

FINALLY!!!! A Solution To Organizing My Ribbon!

Hello and Happy Thursday to everyone!  It is one STORMY day here in Fort Worth!  It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to head to my little man's school to set up for their Christmas party!

Before I head out, I wanted to share with you my NEW fabulous ribbon organizers!  I have FINALLY found a solution to storing my ribbon!  YAY! No more searching through boxes of tangled ribbon for my creations.  *WOW*  HUGE THUNDER!  Anyhow, I recently purchased the Simply Renee Clip-It-Up Ribbon Organizer from Scrapbook.com.... not one, but THREE!  It was such a huge steal that I just couldn't resist!  I got them for $9.99 (retailed at $79.99) a piece during their 12 Days of Christmas Sale.  And yes, it is the bigger 36" unit!

I was able to get two up last night and organized in no time.  Putting them up was a cinch.... now untangling all of my spools of ribbon was a whole other story!  I am very please with them.  They really are the SOLUTION to my ribbon nightmare!

I have them hanging right behind where I create and the accessibility is just FABULOUS!  It truly is nice to have all of it there for me to see, rather than digging through it all!  I was able to fit a total of 106 spools of ribbon between the two organizers (still have about 40 more spools to put into the 3rd organizer).  It also comes with 40 clips each for the metal rod at the bottom.  I used these to clip up scrap ribbon as well as some of my CTMH embellishments.  I just can't say enough good things about this system.... I JUST LOVE IT!

Well, here's hoping these storms will slow down a bit.  At least long enough for me to haul a karaoke machine into the school as well as all the other stuff I need to get in there for the party!  I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!
***Please pay no attention to the 'bareness' of my craft room!  It is still a work in progress and will get done once we get through the holidays!***

New SPACIOUS Craft Table!

Hello all!  I just wanted to put up a quick post of my new craft table that the dear hubby built me right before Thanksgiving.  After searching and searching online for a table that would fit my taste and NEEDS (LOTS OF CRAFTING SPACE), my hubby suggested that he just make one for me.  A lot of the craft tables I found online were either to small, didn't have enough storage, or just had RIDICULOUS price tags!  So we took ideas from a couple of tables I found online and came up with this!  The table top measures 4ft x 6.5 ft (big enough for four people to craft away with plenty of work space) and it consists of 12 cubbies total all around and 6 shelves, along with TONS of space underneath.  PLENTY of storage for this little lady to store a lot of her scrappy items!

The table took my hubby a day to build and then it took us another day to paint it all.  So we basically knocked this project out in a weekend!  He is now working on 4 stools for me to go on both sides of the table as well as shelves, and a book spine shelving unit.  I'll be sure to post those once they're completed.  All in all, I absolutely LOVE my new craft table and am so very thankful for my handy hubby!

That is my pretty princess showcasing my AWESOME craft table!  I LOVE that it is tall enough for me to scrap while standing.... I tend to do that A LOT and won't have to kill my back now!
