IKEA Scraproom Haul! Lots of FUN Goodies!

Hello again!  Yesterday, my entire family (hubby, kiddos, mom, dad, little brother and his girlfriend) went on a 10 hour family outing!  It was a beautiful day here in FW, TX, with temps in the UPPER 60s!  To top that one... today we should be hitting about 74 degrees! CrAzY!  I am ready for some snow and I sooooo LOVE sweatshirt weather, so this isn't quite working out for me! lol!

Anyway, we began our day with a trip to IKEA (which is only about 45 mins from my house).  Not my hubby's favorite place to go... but bless his heart, he sucks it up just for me! :)  We spent a good 3 hours in there shopping for my 'work in progress' scraproom.  The initial plan was that the hubby was going to build most of my shelving units and stuff, but with him only having a week or so between oil wells, I didn't want him to be spending all of his time in his workshop. So..... my solution, you ask?!?!  A trip to IKEA! :)

After Ikea we stopped at In-N-Out for some yummy lunch and then ventured off to enjoy ICE! at the Gaylord Texan (the official hotel of the Dallas Cowboys) in Grapevine, TX.  Every year the Gaylord Texan has a spectacular 14,000-square-foot ICE! exhibit that features a variety of magical holiday scenes and sculptures hand-carved by 40 visiting artisans from Harbin, China.  This year's theme was 'Shrek the Halls'.  I will be sure to post photos of this soon.

So, back to IKEA... I went into IKEA with a list already printed out so that I wouldn't get too sidetracked and concentrate only on what I NEEDED... and I am proud to say that I was able to stick to my list and stay on track! :)

Here is what I purchased for my scrappy space (photos will be up once it is all put together)...

  • Expedit Bookshelf w/8 Cubbies (will be placed vertically)
  • (4) Kassett Magazine boxes
  • Set of 5 Flyt Magazine Files (which I plan on decorating with patterned paper)
  • (10) Roja Label Holders (for my magazine files)
  • (12) Rajtan Spice Jars (to house my embellies)
  • (3) Ribba Picture Ledges (to store my embellishment jars)
  • (6) Magnetic Grundtal Containers (for more embellies)
  • (4) Bygel Rails (3 of them to store my punches)
  • (4) Pink Bygel Containers (to hang on one of the rails for storage)
  • (1) Dignitet Curtain Wire with (25) Dignitet Curtain rings w/Clips (to hang papers or sticker sheets)
  • (3) Ekby Osten Shelves (measuring 46 7/8" x 11" each)
  • (2) Ekby Gallo Wall Side Units (to house my 3 Ekby Shelves)
There is STILL so MUCH more that I want.... but will just have to wait a couple of paydays! lol!  Below is a picture to give you an idea of what I came home with. :)  Can't wait to see it ALL in my scraproom!  Off to put some of it together now! :)
All of my goodies that I have listed! :)

Christmas Cards 2011 :)

Good morning & Happy New Year's Eve to everyone!  I'm sorry for not posting for a few days, but it's been a whirl wind of a Christmas Holiday!  My kiddos have been on break since the 16th of December and return to school on the 3rd... so keeping them occupied and not 'bored' has been a challenge! lol!

I wanted to quickly post the Christmas cards that I created and mailed out this year.  I was very pleased as to how they turned out and excited about it all, being that it was my first year creating my own Christmas cards! :)  As you all may know or have read from my blog, my creating adventures began last Christmas (2010) when my dear hubby purchased a Cricut Expression for me.  It has been a FANTABULOUS journey of creating ever since!

I hope that you all had a splendid and blessed Christmas with your families and loved ones.  Have a FABULOUS Saturday and keep on creating!

FINALLY!!!! A Solution To Organizing My Ribbon!

Hello and Happy Thursday to everyone!  It is one STORMY day here in Fort Worth!  It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to head to my little man's school to set up for their Christmas party!

Before I head out, I wanted to share with you my NEW fabulous ribbon organizers!  I have FINALLY found a solution to storing my ribbon!  YAY! No more searching through boxes of tangled ribbon for my creations.  *WOW*  HUGE THUNDER!  Anyhow, I recently purchased the Simply Renee Clip-It-Up Ribbon Organizer from Scrapbook.com.... not one, but THREE!  It was such a huge steal that I just couldn't resist!  I got them for $9.99 (retailed at $79.99) a piece during their 12 Days of Christmas Sale.  And yes, it is the bigger 36" unit!

I was able to get two up last night and organized in no time.  Putting them up was a cinch.... now untangling all of my spools of ribbon was a whole other story!  I am very please with them.  They really are the SOLUTION to my ribbon nightmare!

I have them hanging right behind where I create and the accessibility is just FABULOUS!  It truly is nice to have all of it there for me to see, rather than digging through it all!  I was able to fit a total of 106 spools of ribbon between the two organizers (still have about 40 more spools to put into the 3rd organizer).  It also comes with 40 clips each for the metal rod at the bottom.  I used these to clip up scrap ribbon as well as some of my CTMH embellishments.  I just can't say enough good things about this system.... I JUST LOVE IT!

Well, here's hoping these storms will slow down a bit.  At least long enough for me to haul a karaoke machine into the school as well as all the other stuff I need to get in there for the party!  I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!
***Please pay no attention to the 'bareness' of my craft room!  It is still a work in progress and will get done once we get through the holidays!***

Wonderland Card with Matching Gift Bag

Hello again!  Now that I have my last post all squared away and taken care of, I am ready to post my latest creation!

As many of you know, my daughter is in dance competition.  Every year, the older competition girls are assigned  a 'lil sis' to guide and be a role model for throughout the dance year.  Well, tomorrow is their big competition dance Christmas party and my daughter is to bring her 'lil sis' a gift.  Aside from buying her a couple of things that were on her wish list, I also made her a frame (which I will post at a later time), as well as a gift bag to house her gifts and a matching card.  I LOVE the way these turned out and absolutely love the CTMH Wonderland paper collection!  Along with the Wonderland papers, I also used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the snowflakes for both the gift bag and card.  I am really hoping that she likes it and hoping you all enjoy it as well!

Cricut Mania's 12 Days of Christmas Celebration... Day 12!

Good morning and Happy Wednesday to all my fellow bloggers!  So, I logged on to blogger with the intention of posting my lastest creation (which I will post shortly after this one).... to find out that my Day 12 post never actually posted!  UGH, so frustrated with blogger at times!  This post should have been here for you all on Tuesday, so please accept my apologies!

On Day 12, I created this cutsie little treat bucket for some of my kiddo's school teachers, dance teachers, taekwondo instructors as well as the awesome ladies in the school office.  These little buckets were picked up at my local Target for only $1 a piece!  Easy Peasy!  Inside I put a baggie of hot cocoa, mini marshmallows, a couple of small candy canes, and some hershey kisses.  I hope you all enjoy... and again, I am so sorry this is SOOOO late!  Have a FABULOUS day!

Items From My Vendor Shows.... LOTS of Photos!

Hello.... once again!  This is post two of three for today!  As I have mentioned in earlier posts, I have done quite a few vendor shows in the past couple of months.  And I wanted to share some of the items I put together to sell!  I didn't have time to post all of them with all that I had going on.... so I thought I would share 'most' of them in a post.  I hope that you are all having a blessed Sunday!

Cricut Mania's 12 Days of Christmas.... Day 10!

Happy Sunday to all!  Well, exhaustion got the best of me yesterday after my vendor show!  I returned home, cleaned my house a bit, sat on the couch to catch my breath and TOTALLY passed out!  Woke up to have a little dinner and passed out once again.... this time for the night!  I am feeling caught up with sleep for now, but I have another busy week ahead of me!  So happy that the kiddos go on break this coming Friday.... we'll finally have a chance to sit back and enjoy each other and this Christmas season.  Can you believe that there are only 14 days until Christmas?!?!  The time really is flying on by.  This makes me a tad bit sad.... I don't like it when the holidays are rushed! :(

Well, here is YESTERDAY'S Day 10 project!  This is my 'Here Comes Santa (Pop-Up)' layout... another LBH creation that I completed.   It was a bit tedious to put together, but lots of fun!  This particular layout will be one that will be framed and up on our wall every Christmas!  Hope you all enjoy!

Cricut Mania's 12 Days of Christmas Celebration.... Day 9!

What a BUSY BUSY day today!  Whew!  And it's NOT over yet!  Volunteered at the elementary school again today, worked on some cards for a bit, took my little man to his Taekwondo Christmas party and have to be up tomorrow at 6AM for yet ANOTHER vendor show!  Next year I definitely plan on NOT doing as many vendor shows.... or at least have my last one in November.  So much to juggle with the hubby working out of town a lot and my kiddos school and competition teams.  I have my daughter's dance competition Christmas party on Wednesday and then as room mom for my son's class, I am in charge of their Winter Party on Thurs.  YIKES!  Mamma here needs a BREAK!

Speaking of break.... I am seriously considering taking one of Suzanne Dean's 'On the Road' Copic classes.  She will be in Waco, TX in February and it's only a 1 hr and 45 min drive from where I live!  I think it would be really neat.... and I need to get back to my copics.... they've SERIOUSLY been neglected!

Well, enough of my chit chat.... here is Day 9 of my '12 Days of Christmas Celebration'!  This is my NEW set of mini tags for my Words for All Seasons block set.  I created my 'Ho Ho Ho' set at The Little Blue House.  If any of you are EVER here in Fort Worth, make sure to stop by there... you will love it!  This is probably my favorite set so far (then again, I think I say that about all my tag sets)!  I hope you will all enjoy!

Cricut Mania's 12 Days of Christmas Celebration.... Day 8!

Hello everyone!  Here's hoping that you are all doing well today!  My day started off great... went to The Little Blue House with my mother for some mother/daughter creating!  We had a great time there today and each came home with a FaBuLoUs completed project.  I will be sharing my creations with you early next week.  Like I mentioned above, my day started off great, but by the time we got home I start to get some pretty bad stomach pains.  Feeling a little better now, but still having little 'pings' ever so often.

Though a little late today, here is my Day 8 project.  I decided to make my mother a nice Christmas frame to house a photo of all of her grandbabies.  I found the perfect place for my Cricut Art Philosophy cut poinsettia!  Hope you all enjoy... I am off to bed for now!  Have a great night!

Cricut Mania's 12 Days of Christmas Celebration.... Day 7!

Well hello again!  I have really been on top of  this lately, haven't I?!?!  Except for my little 'oops' yesterday!  Wow, it's Day 7 already!  I need for this month to come to a brief pause.... too much to do and NOT enough time to get it all done!  I am going to seriously be worn out by December 26!  I may need to sleep this all off until the first of the year! lol!

And here it is.... my Day 7 creation!  This cutsie french fry treat box was cut using my NEW FAVORITE cartridge.... CTMH's Cricut Art Philosophy!  I know that I have said this many times before.... but the possibilities with this cartridge truly are ENDLESS!  I hope you guys like it!

I am off to The Little Blue House AGAIN tomorrow, this time with my madre, to do more CrEaTiNg (as if I don't have enough to get done here in my craft room)!  Can't wait to share those creations with you!  until then, have an AWESOME evening and an even more AWESOME day tomorrow!

Cricut Mania's 12 Days of Christmas Celebration.... Day 6! Oops!

Ahhh, my day was so busy yesterday that I never got the chance to post my Day 6 project!  I am so sorry!  I've been volunteering at my son's school this week and I also stopped by The Little Blue House for a workshop where I created a couple of projects. :)  With Christmas creeping up on us and still a couple of vendor shows to go, my mind has been running a mile a minute will ALL the things I need to get done.  I feel that the more people try not to stress out around this time of year, the more we do!

But I am here, and I am sharing with you one of the projects created yesterday at The Little Blue House.  What you see is my 'Season's Greetings Gatefold Accordion Book'!  As always, the ladies there did a TERRIFIC job designing this project and I had a blast working on it and putting it together!  It was a fairly easy project just took a bit of time to assemble it all.  I have yet to pick the five photos that will be displayed on it, but that shouldn't be a problem!  I hope you all enjoy and have a FaBuLoUs day!
